SUSTAINABILTY
At RCGC, we are dedicated to integrating sustainability into all aspects of our service projects and club operations. As part of Rotary International’s Area of Focus for Protecting the Environment, we strive to promote eco-friendly practices and inspire our community to take action for a greener future.
Our Sustainability Pledge
In our commitment to fostering sustainable and environmentally responsible practices both within our club and in our daily lives, the Disaster Risk Management and Environmental Sustainability Committee led the development of a Sustainability Pledge for the Board’s adoption.
The Pledge focuses on four key principles:
-
Reducing our Carbon Footprint
-
Embracing Reusables
-
Prioritizing Recyclables
-
Advocating for Climate Action
On August 10th, 2024, the Board of Directors officially signed the Pledge, marking a milestone in our sustainability journey.
The signing was witnessed by Ms. Ladonna Kissoon, a representative from the Environmental Protection Agency, further emphasizing the significance of this commitment.

Ongoing Club Actions
-
Bottle up or pay up! - The rule this RY is to bring reusable cups or bottles to every club meeting or activity to reduce the reliance on plastic cups. No reusable? No problem—just a little ‘donation’ to the club fund compliments of the Sarge.
-
Popping Bottles Fundraiser - This is a year long project to raise funds for the Disaster Risk Management and Environmental Sustainability Fund. Collected glass bottles will be resold to Banks DIH to earn funds.
