From November to December 2024, our Professional Development Project MentorLink empowered our upcoming youth leaders with knowledge and skills through a series of impactful sessions. This virtual 3 part initiative was a collaborative effort between Rotary Georgetown Central, Rotaract Georgetown Central, and the Interact Clubs of Queen’s College and The Bishop’s High School.
The sessions, aligning with Rotary’s Areas of Focus—Basic Education & Literacy, Economic and Community Development, and promotes Vocational Service. They covered a wide range of critical topics:
✅ Proposal Writing
✅ Planning for the Upcoming Year
✅ Minute Writing and Record Keeping
✅ Planning Successful Projects
✅ Financial Record Keeping
✅ Overview of Interact Club Bylaws
A key highlight is the introduction of the MentorLink Buddy System, pairing like-minded mentors and mentees for the remainder of the Rotary year. This innovative approach offers career guidance, personal and professional growth, and support for a seamless transition to Rotaract or Rotary.
Our mentors, including Rotarians, Rotaractors, and even District representatives, shared insights and strategies to help Interactors and new Rotaractors build their capacity as future leaders. This collaboration strengthened ties within the Rotary family and demonstrated the power of mentorship in fostering growth and innovation.
