RCGC brought the magic of the holidays to the East Ruimveldt Learning Centre with our "Wishes & Wonders" Community Service Project. This event combined creativity and cheer as children decorated gingerbread houses and cookies and enjoyed a festive afternoon filled with joy and togetherness.

Thanks to the generous contributions of our sponsors and donors, we were able to create unforgettable moments for seventy-five (75) children and provide a space for holiday celebration and community spirit. Special appreciation goes to our participants and volunteers, whose energy and support made this initiative a true success.

The “Wishes & Wonders” project reflects our commitment to spreading joy, fostering creativity, and giving back to the community during the season of giving.

The Open Open Source Library project is an innovative initiative aimed at fostering literacy and promoting a culture of reading by installing Mini Libraries across various communities in Guyana. The project will make books more accessible, especially in public spaces and in areas with limited access to educational resources.

The first Mini Library was successfully installed at the Rotary Georgetown Central's Wellness Space in the National Park. The Libraries are designed to operate on a “Take a Book, Leave a Book” model, encouraging members of the public to freely borrow books and, in turn, contribute by placing a book in the library when possible. The goal is to create sustainable, community-driven spaces that nurture lifelong learning, foster curiosity, and build a sense of collective responsibility.

This project is a collaborative effort between the Rotaract Georgetown Central, Rotaract University of Guyana, and Rotaract Corriverton and is made possible through the generous sponsorship of our sponsor club's Immediate Past President, Mr. Peter Pompey and his team BACIF.

Whether you're an avid reader, a community enthusiast, or someone simply looking to give back, your support matters! If you’d like to donate books or contribute in any other way to this project, please reach out to Director Deen at 649-8907. Your generosity will help us expand this initiative and reach even more communities across Guyana.
